Russell Stover Hearts

Image
So, you're looking for a Valentine's Day gift, but don't want to get the same old stuff.  Cards, flowers, and jewelry are the path of losers with no imagination.  If you really want your significant other to smile, slide them a Russell Stover Heart. These babies are made of a thick layer of chocolate covering whatever they feel like making it cover.  It could be caramel.  It could be cherry filling.  Heck, it could be even more chocolate.  You can even play a game with them.  Simply unwrap a bunch of them, put them in a box, and give it to your loved one.  They'll never know what's inside, but they'll always know it's good. Instead of getting that special someone a dozen rose or a card, give them a dozen of these.  They'll appreciate it more.  You may even get laid.  Chocolate is better than stuff you can't eat.  It's also better than crack.

Wok & Mortar Grilled Steak Kung Pao with Compound Rice

Image
Do you like steak?  Do you like hot stuff?  Well, Wok & Mortar has the meal for you. Wok & Mortar is one of those restaurants following the popular trend of building your meal from the base up, kind of like Chipotle's.  You pick a protein, a base, a grain, and maybe some extras.  Then you watch the chefs cook it up and serve it piping hot in a big bowl.  This give you the ability to put together some fairly creative meals.  There's one combination in particular that stands out to me.  That is the grilled steak with a kung pao base and compound rice. Lots of good stuff in here. First, let's start off with the beef.  For me, the texture of meat is everything.  The beef has good texture and is cut into big, hearty pieces filled with flavor.  There's a lot, too, so your carnivorous urges won't go unsatisfied. This bowl is deep and loaded. The kung pao base is pretty good, loaded with zucchini, edamame, peanuts, and ...

Fairlife Chocolate Milk

Image
Chocolate milk is good.  But not everyone can drink it because they are lactose intolerant.  For those who are, you now have a savior; Fairlife and their lactose-free line of milk. Look out!  It's a stampede of win! What Fairlife has done is create nothing less than a masterpiece with their chocolate milk.  It has less sugar and more protein than its competitors, while not sacrificing taste and not sending you running to the toilet shortly after drinking it.  How?  Just how? That's a pretty impressive stat line for chocolate milk. So there you have it.  Fairlife chocolate milk is where it's at.  Isn't it funny what removing lactose can do to milk?  It changes it from a guilty pleasure to a mealtime staple.  And of course, it makes it better than crack.

Steak 'N Shake Cajun Steakburger

Image
Like hamburgers and spicy things.  Then you might like Shake N' Shake's Cajun Steakburger.  I can say it certainly surprised me. At a glance, it looks simple enough.  You have was appears to be a cheeseburger with spicy stuff sprinkled on top.  And you'd be right.  That is in fact what it is.  The bun spicy, but not hot.  If you can't handle hot stuff, you've got nothing to fear.  Or maybe my sense of taste is messed up from years of downing Hot Cheetos. It also has a secret you don't see.  Underneath the bun, there is a special sauce to rival what McDonald's puts on its Big Mac.  I don't know what it is (probably some type of Cajun mayo or something) but it's pretty good. What Steak N' Shake has created here is something juicy, spicy, and pretty darned good.  It's bursting with flavor, yet it won't overwhelm you.  It's simply orgasmic and, dare I say, better than crack.

Roast Beef Sandwich

There's aren't many things in this world better than roast beef.  In a sandwich, it's simply orgasmic.  A roast beef sandwich is simply the king of sandwiches. Naturally, one thinks of Arby's when they think of roast beef sandwiches.  There's no need to go out of your to a fast food restaurant to get a quality sandwich, though.  You don't have to have cooking skills, either.  A trip to the supermarket and a plan is all you need to pull this off. First, grab yourself some roast beef.  Try to get it from the supermarket deli, if you can.  Oscar Meyer, Sarah Lee, and the like simply don't cut it if your looking to make a GOOD sandwich.  For me, a meat's texture is everything and the supermarket deli has never failed me.  Of course, it tastes better as well, especially when there's a TINY bit of red. Then, obviously you'll need bread.  Good ole white bread is where it's at.  What it lack in nutrients and health benefits, it ma...

I Must Confess...

I have never been hooked on crack.  I've never used crack.  I've never seen crack.  I've never smelled crack.  I don't know any crackheads nor have I seen one (or at least I would never know how to identify one).  Simply put, crack is not in any part of many life. So, how do I know wheter or not something is better than crack?  I don't.  That's the cut and dry, the straight and narrow, the quick and dirty of the situation. What I DO know is that when people talk about highly addictive things, they compare them to the highly illegal drug.  Whether it be gambling, videogames, collecting things, or (in the case of this blog) food, it has been compared to all of them and more.  One could almost say that crack is the best thing in the world and that drawing comparisons to it is something to be valued.  Imagine what it means for something to be called better than such a thing. So, there you have it.  That is why this blog exists....
